Thirsty Thursday: Champagne Lemonade

We haven't had a Thirsty Thursday in a while, so in honor of warmer weather, how about a little champagne lemonade!  Two of my favorite things!  Can't wait to try the recipe this weekend.  It's like a lemon-y mimosa!

Champagne Lemonade

1 cup sugar
3 cups water
2 cups fresh lemon juice (about 8 lemons)
1 bottle champagne
1 sliced lemon, for garnish

1.  Break out your old-school hand juicer and squeeze some lemons.

2.  In a pitcher, mix up sugar, water, and lemon juice until the sugar is dissolved.  Add your sugar slowly, tasting as you go to get your preferred sweetness level.  Do err on the sweeter side because the champagne will balance it out.

3.  Fill glasses halfway with lemonade, and top with the champagne.

4.  Add a lemon slice to each glass for cutsie little garnish and enjoy with your fanciest friends!
