Monday Funday

The Beau has been in town since Friday, and let me tell you, I've loved every second of it.  A week without that man is just pure torture.  We've spent all weekend watching movies and just being couch potatoes.  It's been absolutely glorious.  Literally, we left the couch to go get groceries.  That's it.  Judge us.  I don't care.

Changing subjects..while spending all of this time doing nothing, I've been thinking.  I love summer.  It's my favorite season.  I am your classic, heat loving, southern Mississippi girl.  However, I do love a good seasonal transition period, and I am looking forward to the transition between summer and fall.  I'm so looking forward to boots, leggings, sweaters, and leather jackets this year.  Weird right?  Here are some of my favorite fall pieces I've been seeing so far.

I'm trying to save all my money for my shopping/John Mayer concert trip to Atlanta in September.  It's the closest Zara store to me, therefore, I am ECSTATIC.  I hope y'all have a fabulous week!

Manic Monday

I really need to remember this more often.  A bubble bath and some relaxation is in order!

Maybe it's because I'm southern, or maybe it's because I was raised to be hospitable and polite to everyone, but I firmly believe in being kind to all.  It was Plato who said, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."  This is so true.  Kill everyone with kindness no matter how they treat you.

People are people.  Someone is always going to fall short of your expectations at one point or another.  I know I've had my fair share of less than kind moments, but I've found that life is a whole lot happier and easier to stomach when you're kind.  My favorite professor always told me that while the golden rule, treat people the way you want to be treated, was a good thing to remember, the platinum rule was better.  The platinum rule states that you should treat others the way they want to be treated.  Doesn't this make more sense?  Who doesn't want to be treated with kindness?

Although I'm the ultimate dreamer, I understand that not everyone will take Plato's fantastic advice, and that's okay.  This world will go on, but maybe the next time you're having a "manic Monday" or just a rough time of it, you'll remember Plato's words or even the quote about Mondays above.  Let's all just have a little faith in the greater good.
