The Miley Cyrus Debate

Lets talk the Miley Cyrus debate for a hot second.  Personally, I love her, and you can read why here.  (Granted, that post was pre haircut and We Can't Stop, but still.)  While her recent antics are wild and crazy, I like what she's ultimately standing for, which is being true to yourself and who you are.  I loved what she said when asked about being a role model in this interview, too.  It's better for people to look up to those who are good and nice people than the boring, mean people who put on a good show.  And lets get real y'all, you were doing the same stuff at age 20, you just didn't have a camera following you every where. (Lets all take a minute to praise the Lord for that.)  And she obviously has her head screwed on a lot tighter than LiLo and Amanda Bynes.

So anyway, on to more important Miley matters like her fab fashionista ways.  I just can't stop loving it. (Too corny?  Haha!)  Here are some of my recent faves.

People always ask me how I pull certain looks off, and I think Miley is a great example of what I tell those people.  Given that the look is right for your body type, you can pull off whatever look you want to pull off as long as you have confidence in it and how you look in it.  If you think you can or can't pull something off, you're right.

So there ya have it, more Miley lovin'.  On another side note, as much as I love her and Liam together, everyone needs to chill out.  They're young.  Let them get married whenever they want to get married.  Be engaged for 10 years if you want to.  Live ya life, gurl.

Ok, I'm done.

Miley's New Blue Do

Blah, blah, blah...it's Monday...

Just kidding!  What better way to start off a new week, fresh and ready to go, than with a new hairstyle??  Now, y'all know how much I love Miley.  Girl is ROCKING another new hair do, and it's BLUE!  I know the pastel look isn't everyone's cup of tea.  I could never do it because of school and work, but I do love it.  Kelly Osborne rocks her lavender locks, too.

Check out some of my favorite strangely colored strands

What do y'all think??

Thank you, Jennifer Lawrence.

I've contemplated this post quite a bit.  At first, I thought about doing a blog post on my favorite and least favorite gowns from the Oscars...boring.  You can decide that for yourselves, and no dress was just horrible.  Something that did stand out to me, however, was Jennifer Lawrence.

I know, I know, everyone has been obsessing over JLaw for a while now, myself included, but no one is talking about how utterly REAL she is.  The girl fell on her way to accept her much deserved best actress Academy Award, yet she never skipped a beat.  It didn't bother her one little bit.  She's not afraid to laugh at herself or make a funny face or say exactly how she's feeling.  She's awkward and funny, and I find it glorious.

Never would we see Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, or Nicole Kidman do such a thing.  That would be ghastly and ruin they perfect princess persona.  Well too bad!!  For once, Hollywood is giving us an image of real woman, and not just with Jennifer Lawrence.  We seeing awesomely real stars every where like Emma Stone, Miley Cyrus, and Zooey Deschanel.

We all look up to these celebrity women, and inevitably will compare ourselves to them.  These fabulous women aren't afraid to be human, and make us all feel just a little bit better about the funny faced picture from this weekend that got tagged to you on Facebook, the embarrassed fall you took in front of you class when handing in your test, and the burger you shoveled in your mouth at lunch.  All this to say, thank you, Jennifer Lawrence, for being so wonderfully and beautifully clutzy.

I have a confession to make...

Ok, y'all.  I have a confession to make.  Please try not to judge me too terribly for this, but I have a recent obsession with Miley Cyrus.  NOT the blonde, Hannah Montana, Miley everyone used to know and love, but the new Miley.  She's edgy, she's fit, she has a wardrobe I drool over, she rescues dogs, and she's completely and unapologetically herself.  I didn't even mention her FIIIIIINE fiancĂ©, Liam Hemsworth. Yum.  While I know that her mouth is filthy lately, and she has become quite open about sex, there's just something about her that intrigues me.  She's colorful, interesting, and grown up, and she's not sorry.

So, anyway...I thought I'd share some of my favorite, recent Miley photos.

I'm so obsessed with this skirt.
Love her new, blonde hair and her now infamous "top knot" bun.
Ziggy, one of her 4 adopted doggies.
Mary Jane.  She looks just like my Layla Bug!
Miley's fiance, Liam Hemsworth.
Miley's 3.5 carat, Neil Lane engagement ring.  I die.
Check out this Marie Claire article about the cover girl.  This issue hits stands on September 17th.
Soooo...I have a new found love for Miley.  She's not very kid friendly anymore, but hopefully her early fans have grown up with her.  I respect her for being herself in a town that would love to change everything about her. Lets not forget that she's a good ole southern girl from Tennessee, too! Keep on, keeping on, Miley.  I love ya!  Sorry, I'm not sorry. :)

The weekend is almost here, hippies! How are you celebrating the end of summer??
