Happy 4th of July, Hippies!

I hope y'all have an amazing, safe, and happy day!  Don't forget to take a minute to remember why we celebrate this day and all of those who fought and sacrificed so that we can.

Now go have some fun!

Wishful Wednesday: 4th of July Outfits

4th of July is upon us, my hippies!  What a fun holiday it is!  I'm so glad America was born. :)  So to honor the holiday is true Mississippi Hippy fashion, here are some outfits on my 4th of July wish list.

While this outfit is super cute, it's WAY TO HOT for a Mississippi Independence Day.

If you'd like to see more 4th of July outfit inspiration, visit the blog post I did recently for Irie Boutique. (here).  Irie is the most amazing boutique with great prices.  Shop their online boutique, or visit the store if you live locally.  The girls are so friendly, and they ship anywhere in the US for a $5 flat rate!

I'll be spending my Independence Day with the beau and his family in Ocean Springs.  I'm excited.  That city really has stolen my heart.  Hopefully I'll be able to call it home soon!

How are you spending your 4th of July?

Lets Talk Midi Rings

And for my latest jewelry obsession, lets talk about midi rings!  Thoughts??

I love them!  They're the coolest thing since sliced bread.  Especially since I have this AMAZING ring my daddy gave me when I was a little girl that's obviously too small now, but it makes the perfect little midi ring for grown up me.  Smart, right?  They're the perfect departure from your every day accessories that grow boring after time.

Here's some of my favorites I've seen floating around the web.

Can I get a manicure to go with the midi ring?  I'm in desperate need of one.

On a different note, if you need a little laugh tonight, let me tell you about my poor little car.  Not only has it been recently recalled (if you drive a Jeep like me, you might wanna check on that), but my back passenger side window has decided it doesn't want to stay up anymore.  So, in true Mr. Fix-It fashion, I decided to handle the situation as best I could without having to spend an arm and a leg on having it fixed.  My cute, little, bright red Jeep Liberty is now sporting peace sign duct tape.  Welcome to ghetto-fabulous. HA! I figured the plain old silver would look worse than the cute kinds.  It was a tough call between Hello Kitty and the peace signs, but I'm confident in my decision.

Tomorrow is basically Friday! HALLELUJAH! Back to the coast to see the beau!  Happy (almost) Independence Day!

The perfect Mississippi Hippy Independence Day ensemble.

I would totally rock this outfit tomorrow.  Can't wait to grill out, have a drink, and spend the day with my wonderful friends!

USA! USA! USA!

The 4th of July is rapidly approaching, and I'm excited.  This star spangled holiday has always been one of my favorites.  It's full of fun, food, fireworks, family, and friends!  Since my roommate and I are having a 4th of July/house warming party, I thought I'd share some of the best decorating, food, and drink ideas as well as some fashion inspiration for this patriotic day.  Here we go!

Food/Drink
to spice up the already delicious burgers and hot dogs on the grill...

For those of us 21 and over, go here for lots of delicious drink recipes!

Throw this on the grill with those burgers and hot dogs, and you will not regret it.  Grilled corn is so delicious, and here is a simple how to.

How cute are this chocolate covered strawberries?

Decorations

I'm in love with these cute little cans I found on Pinterest!

This decor looks so simple and easy.  Mason jars are so popular right now, too.  Stick some sand in them and add a dash of red, white and blue, and you have simple, chic, and inexpensive Independence Day decorations!

How perfect would these be hanging in the trees outside at a 4th of July party?  Here's a super easy tutorial on how to make these patriotic, tin can windsocks!

Love this cute and classy wreath, and it's super inexpensive to make!  Go to the simple tutorial here!

I don't really know if these is considered a decoration, but I just love sparklers!

Fashion Inspiration

In honor of the 2012 Olympics that are also rapidly approaching, here are two pictures that I just had to had to this post!

Go USA!!!

This one is just too funny!

So there ya have it! I'm so ready to celebrate the country I love with the people I love!  Lets all remember the reason why we celebrate the 4th of July, and remember to thank those who fight to keep us free.  Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

God Bless America!
